On the 30th anniversary of his death, Fondazione Modena Arti Visive is presenting an exhibition that traces the career of the great Emilian artist, a central figure in late twentieth-century photography. The exhibition aims to use Luigi Ghirri’s corpus of Modenese works to recreate the exceptionality of his work in the place where they were made. His production changed the course of photography in Italy, not only through his original vision and thought, but also through his passion for photography as a medium. Moreover, his human side enabled him to create great friendships and partnerships that went well beyond the field of photography.
